Mikayla currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the Heartland Family Service Peer Center and Behavioral Health Navigation in Council Bluffs. Mikayla spent several years working in homeless services before moving into the world of behavioral health. She is driven by a passion to close the gaps in behavioral health services and is inspired by her team of staff and peers who face every challenge bravely, creatively, and kindly. In her role as Peer Center Coordinator, she contributes to the agency’s training and development of peer support specialists, also advocating for the position in the broader community.
